NEXT EVENT! INTRODUCING THE GENEALOGY “POT LUCK”

On Saturday March 2 at the Genealogy “Pot Luck” will be held at the New York Irish Center in Long Island City (one stop from Grand Central on the 7 train). The day will focus on content, discussion, shared experiences - an interactive learning day. The proposed program will begin at 10AM and highlight:

  • Getting Started on Irish Genealogy

  • Using Key Research Sites (eg. Ancestry, Findmypast, Family Search, etc) - and What to Know

  • New York Records and Archives

  • Safeguarding Your Information When Online

  • Shared Learnings on DNA: Selecting the Company, Test, Testers, Finding and Communicating with Matches, Interpreting Matches

  • Sharing Genealogy & DNA Success Stories

  • Research Brick Walls

  • Planning a Genealogy Trip or Reunion

  • Reviewing Top Irish Surnames / Heraldry

The day begins at 10AM and concludes at 4PM with lunch and coffee/tea breaks.

The Genealogy Event will offer the opportunity to learn, engage and connect - over genealogy and DNA.
